Legendary artist Andy Warhol was always accepting of technology and realized it was the future for contemporary culture. Incase has created a collection consisting of some of Warhol’s most well known works; in this case, the famous Warhol Banana, graces the 15″ Neoprene Macbook Pro Sleeve.
About the art:
The iconic Banana artwork was a by-product of Warhol’s time with the band The Velvet Underground. He had seen them play in Greenwich Village and subsequently became their manager. Not only did he create the now famous artwork — void of any reference to the band using Pop Art — for the band, but he also produced their and Nico’s debut album. The initial release of the The Velvet Underground & Nico featured a request, “Peel slowly and see”, in regards to the Banana. If and when the consumer peeled the Banana peel back, it would reveal a flesh-coloured banana underneath. The album went on to be placed at #13 on Rolling Stones “Top 500 Albums of All Time” in November 2003. An impressive feat after being widely ignored following it’s immediate release.
